Cannes Film Festival

The 75th Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard section will have a female-majority jury led by Italian filmmaker and actor Valeria Golino (May 17-28).

In addition to Golino, the jury includes US filmmaker Debra Granik, Cold War star Joanna Kulig, Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez, and French singer-songwriter-actor Benjamin Biolay, all of whom are on the five-person panel.

Euphoria, a 2018 Un Certain Regard selection, was directed by Golino, who previously acted in English-language films such as Rain Man.

At this year's Un Certain Regard, there are twenty films, eight of which are debuts, and nine of which are directed by females.

Mathieu Vadepied's Father and Soldier , Riley Keogh and Gina Gammell's Beast, and Emily Atef's Plus que jamais are among the films that will be shown at the festival.
