Actress Deepika Padukone Honoured In TIME100 Impact Awards Ceremony

Deepika Padukone has catapulted herself into a towering figure.
If you need proof, you do not need to look further than her last movie. While Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan received strong polarising reactions, everyone agreed upon the fact that Deepika’s performance had a mesmerising and nuanced emotional complexity that a less capable actress might not have handled well. Her work left both the audience and the critics awestruck.
In addition to her accomplishments, the actress was recently honoured in the TIME100 Impact Awards.
Deepika was named on the list for her initiatives concerning mental health. Deepika tweeted a photo from the feature on social media on Monday, captioning it, "Pretty great start to a Monday morning, I would think...#GRATITUDE @time."
Needless to say, her supporters showered her with praise in the comments area.
Deepika talked about how her personal experiences influenced her film choices, such as Piku and Gehraiyaan, in a TIME100 piece. "I had such a personal connection to mental illness. It felt dishonest not to talk about it, "said the actress.
Deepika's Live Love Laugh Foundation, which aims to de-stigmatize mental illness, has increased in popularity over the years. The organisation "provides a free counselling service, a training programme for primary care physicians, access to government-aided initiatives, and livelihood training to more than 1,800 individuals in four rural areas in the states of Karnataka, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu," according to the study.
Deepika not only works towards it, but she also freely discusses mental health so as to “live a life as honest and authentically as possible,” in her words.
