Chirs Rock Refuses to Talk About The Slap

For reasons known to all, Hollywood star Will Smith and comedian Chris Rock have become the talk of the town. The King Richard actor smacked the comedian after he made a 'distasteful' remark about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, at the 94th Academy Awards. Since the incident occurred in late March, the celebrities have been all over the press, making headlines. We just informed you that the Academy has barred the actor from attending the prestigious award event for the next ten years.
For the uninitiated, the confrontation occurred when Chris made a joke about Jada's alopecia. Will, who was initially spotted laughing at the joke and Jada rolling her eyes, then ascended the stage and whacked Chris.
Following the slap issue, Chris Rock recently performed a comedy show in which he made light of the situation. Chris Rock was heard telling the audience at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in California's Coachella Valley, "Life is good." Chris also made a joke about regaining his hearing after Will slapped him.
Chris Rock went on to say that he has an entire show planned regarding the subject, but he would not discuss it. "I'm fine," he said, "I have a whole show and I'm not going to talk about it until I get paid."
A statement was issued shortly after Will Smith was barred from attending the Oscars for ten years. “The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who did incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage. During our telecast, we did not adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was an opportunity for us to set an example for our guests, viewers, and our Academy family around the world, and we fell short — unprepared for the unprecedented.”
Will Smith had previously apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris.” the actor posted on Instagram. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness. Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.”
“Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.” he continued in his post. “I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” it continued.
