Cobra Kai Season 5 Release Date

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka feature in the popular Karate Kid spinoff television series, Cobra Kai, which will premiere its fifth season on September 9th. At the “Netflix is a Joke” comedy festival on Thursday, a panel discussion with the cast of the series was held and the news was announced.

Set 30 years after the events of Karate Kid, Robert Mark Kamen has created the Cobra Kai  series, which is based on his original 1980 series. After Johnny reopens the old Cobra Kai dojo as its primary sensei, their long-established high school rivalry erupts once more. Also returning are Martin Kove as John Kreese and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, as well as Macchio and Zabka from the original flicks.

The streamer also provided a preview for the forthcoming season in addition to the date announcement. Last season's All Valley Tournament finished with Cobra Kai winning the tournament and Terry Silver seizing full leadership of the dojo and laying the groundwork for the dojo's expansion.

Griffith narrates the teaser, saying, "Today is a turning point at Cobra Kai. There's nothing better than a valley full of full dojos, now that our competition has shut down business.”

Additionally, the teaser implies that Daniel would take extraordinary means to eliminate Terry, and that Johnny will travel to Mexico with his estranged son Robby (Tanner Buchanan) to search for Miguel (Xolo Mariduea), who has gone missing.

Cobra Kai debuted on YouTube Premium in 2018 as an original series. After YouTube stopped making original scripted content, the show was acquired by Netflix in the third season. Mariduela, Buchanan and Mary Mouser are among the stars of the new series, which also features Courtney Henggeler, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Vanessa Rubio, and Peyton List. The series was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg through Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleb Pinkett, and Susan Ekins, in addition to Macchio and Zabka, serve as executive producers on the film. Sony Pictures Television is behind the show's creation.
