Frances McDormand and Joel Coen as 'Masters' at Ponta Lopud Festival

The second Ponta Lopud Festival will feature Frances McDormand and Joel Coen as 'Masters' next month. Acting and directing courses will be offered to invited guests at the Lopud festival on the Croatian island of Lopud.
Director and founder Miro Purivatra and Lopud's Tilda Grossel Bogdanovic launched the new festival last year with the goal of showcasing the work of Southeast European filmmakers.
Director Juho Kuosmanen, producer Peter Spears, and talent agent Brian Swardstrom will all be giving talks during this year's festival. Special visitors including Pawel Pawlikowski, Lili Horvat, Danis Tanovic and Ognjen Glavonic and Antonio Sanchez will be invited to participate in the discussions.
Tamara Kotevska, Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic, Una Gunjak, and Gordan Bogdan are among the contestants in the second edition of Ponta Lopud.
“At this point in our professional lives, we can’t think of a better way to spend the warm days of summer than in conversation about the process of filmmaking and the love of film watching with a group of other filmmakers on an island in the Adriatic Sea – how fortunate are we?,” McDormand and Coen said in a statement.
Ponta Lopud Festival II takes place from June 22 to 27.
