Percy Jackson series

Fictional characters Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase have found their actors for the upcoming Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

Grover will be played by Aryan Simhadri, while Annabeth will be played by Leah Sava Jeffries. They join Walker Scobell, who will portray Percy, as the show's stars.

The streamer ordered the Rick Riordan book series adaptation in January. Percy Jackson (Scobell) is a 12-year-old modern demigod who is just beginning to accept his unexpected supernatural talents when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his Master Lightning Bolt. It is up to Percy and Grover and Annabeth to find it, and restore order to Olympia, with the help of their friends.

Grover is a satyr, masquerading as a 12-year-old child, half boy and half goat. For him, people come first, and he'll do whatever is best for them, even if it means sacrificing his own needs. He's a cautious person by nature, but he'll do anything to protect his pals, especially Percy, who is his best buddy.

Athena's real daughter, Annabeth, was born in the 4th century BCE. With an active and inquiring mind, she is a terrific strategist and problem solver. Since she has spent the last five years at Camp Half-Blood, she craves a taste of the real world, which she has only vague memories of from her time at Camp. She helps Percy learn how to exist in the mythical realm, and he helps her reconnect with her humanity.

Simhadri acted in two projects recently, namely Cheaper by the Dozen and Spin, , both of which were on Disney+. Just Roll With It and Mira, the Royal Detective are two other projects he's worked on for Disney. The WWE/Netflix movie The Main Event and the Paramount+ animated series Adventures in Wonder Park are two of his other notable works.

Fox's music drama Empire and Lil Rel Howery's daughter Erica in the Fox multi-camera comedy Rel have made Leah Sava Jeffries a household name. Lifetime's Faith Under Fire also featured her. Her next projects include Beast, a thriller starring Idris Elba, and the Amazon film Something From Tiffany's, which is being produced by Hello Sunshine and stars Elba.

The filming of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to begin soon in Vancouver, British Columbia.James Bobin is directing the pilot, written by Riordan and Jon Steinberg. Along with Bobin, Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, and Gotham Group's Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, Steinberg and his producing partner Dan Shotz are managing the series as executive producers. The studio is 20th Television. As president of Touchstone Television, Salke was responsible for getting the show into development and putting it into production. It is expected to go into production this summer.
