Will Ferrell Joins The Cast Of Barbie

Margot Robbie, as the iconic Barbie,  leads a cast that includes Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon and Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, and America Ferrera in the upcoming Warner Bro production.

And now, Will Ferrell has also signed on to star alongside the I, Tonya actress. The film's script has been written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, and Gerwig has directed it. The filming process has already begun. The plot is being kept under wraps at a Malibu dream house, but sources say there is a meta element to the proceedings. Ferrell is rumored to be portraying the CEO of a toy firm, which may be Mattel or not.

Robbie is also producing the film through her LuckyChap label, alongside Tom Ackerley of LuckyChap. Robbie Brenner of Mattel Films and David Heyman of Paddington fame are also producing.

This will be Ferrell's first feature film since Netflix's Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga in 2020. He recently starred alongside Paul Rudd in Apple TV's black comedy The Shrink Next Door.
