Three years have passed since the conclusion of the critically acclaimed dystopian anthology series Black Mirror's last season. As to a recent report from Variety, an all-new season of the much-loved series is in the works. On Monday, the revelation made headlines, and ecstatic fans took to social media to share their joy.

The journal stated on Monday that Black Mirror 6 is in the works and the casting for the upcoming season of the hit program is currently underway. According to the publication, the new season will have more episodes than the last one, which was released in 2019. However, the details of each episode's plot and title are yet unknown. Episodes of the sixth season of Black Mirror are supposedly more theatrical and will be treated as a standalone film.

In Early 2020, , 'Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, the close collaborators, announced their departure from Endemol Shine Group. However, the rights to Black Mirror remained with Endemol Shine Group, the parent firm, which, in turn, Banijay Group, acquired in 2022. Even though the duo was effectively barred from making any new season of the show, a new deal forged between Netflix and Banijay Group cleared the road for Brooker & Jones. ,

Season 5 of Black Mirror debuted in 2019 with only three episodes totaling about an hour in length. Among their titles were Striking Vipers, Smithereens and  Rachel, Jack & Ashley Too. Andrew Scott, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Miley Cyrus and Anthony Mackie were among the cast members who appeared in the season that premiered on Netflix.

Every episode of the show, spanning all seasons, exists in a single universe. The hit anthology series began in 2011 and swept the internet by storm. They depict the consequences of relying solely on contemporary technology, and how it inevitably leads to disaster. However, while each episode appears to stand alone, it contains hints or connections to prior or future episodes, creating an intriguing secret interwoven multiverse.
